Gundaroo is one of our core service areas, alongside Canberra, Queanbeyan, Sutton, Royalla and Crestwood. It's a short drive from our Crestwood base, which keeps site visits and any warranty callbacks straightforward rather than a half-day trip.
Gundaroo's electricity network
Gundaroo sits on the Essential Energy network — the regional NSW distributor, distinct from Evoenergy, which covers the ACT side of our service area. This matters for solar because export limits, connection approval timeframes, and network tariffs are set by your distributor, not your retailer. We confirm your specific network connection details as part of your free site assessment, rather than assuming the same rules that apply in Canberra apply here too.
A typical Gundaroo property
Gundaroo blocks tend toward rural and acreage properties rather than standard suburban lots — larger roofs, more outbuildings, and often a bigger realistic load than the house alone suggests once you count a shed, a bore pump or a workshop on the same connection. Many properties here suit our Acreage/Rural sizing tier (20-30kW), though a smaller village block in Gundaroo itself may only need a standard residential system. We size against your actual property and usage, not the district average — see our residential solar page for how sizing tiers work.
Real pricing
Our on-grid pricing is fitted from our own completed jobs: $824 per kW of installed PV capacity, plus $429 per kWh if you add a battery. Rural properties sometimes need extra electrical work — longer cable runs, a three-phase upgrade, or additional switchboard capacity — which we assess and price during your free site inspection, not after the job has started. See our pricing guide for full worked examples.
Rebates still apply
Gundaroo properties qualify for the same federal STC rebate scheme as anywhere else in NSW, provided the installer is CEC-accredited and the equipment is CEC-approved — both standard on our installs. See our rebates & STCs guide for how the scheme is calculated.
If you're not on the grid at all
Some Gundaroo-district properties are genuinely off-grid, or would cost more to connect than to run independently. That's a different sizing and pricing conversation to a standard grid-connect system — see our off-grid solar guide for what actually drives off-grid cost and design, even though that guide is written around our Batemans Bay work specifically.
