Local installers, based in Crestwood
Island Solar Australia is based at 19 Stephens Rd, Crestwood NSW 2620. The CEC-accredited installers who assess your roof are the people who install your system, and the same team services it afterwards. See servicing for what ongoing support covers, including systems we did not install.
Every system uses products on the Clean Energy Council's approved list, which keeps it eligible for STCs. For what to check before you sign with any installer, see our guide to choosing a CEC-accredited installer.
Areas we cover

What is different about solar in Queanbeyan
It is NSW, not ACT. Queanbeyan is a NSW address for electricity, even though Canberra is next door. Your network is Essential Energy, not Evoenergy, and NSW tariffs apply.
Network. Essential Energy approves each new system and sets how much it may export to the grid. Limits vary by site, so ask your installer for your approved export limit in writing before you sign.
Tariffs. Our savings calculator uses a NSW retail tariff of about 34c/kWh (AER Default Market Offer 2026–27) and a feed-in tariff of about 5c/kWh (IPART). Each kWh you use yourself is worth several times a kWh you export, so sizing to your daytime use matters more than panel count.
For a longer homeowner's guide, read Solar Panels in Queanbeyan.
What it costs
Our on-grid pricing comes from our own completed jobs: $824 per kW of installed solar, plus $429 per kWh if you add a battery. A 6.6kW system prices out at around $5,438 before rebates. Your quote confirms the final price after a free site assessment.
STCs reduce the upfront cost, and the amount changes over time. See our rebates and STCs guide for how they work, or run your own numbers on the savings calculator (choose NSW).
Batteries in Queanbeyan
With a 5c feed-in tariff, a battery lets you keep more of your own solar instead of exporting it cheaply. Whether it pays back depends on when you use power, so we model it for your household rather than quote a generic payback period. See battery storage for sizing and pricing, and our Canberra and Queanbeyan battery guide for worked numbers.
What we install
We install grid-connected solar for homes and businesses, add batteries to new and existing systems, and service systems we did not install. See residential solar, commercial solar and inverters.

Queanbeyan solar FAQ
Do Queanbeyan homes get ACT or NSW tariffs?
NSW. Queanbeyan is on the Essential Energy network, and NSW retail and feed-in tariffs apply.
Who approves my system's export limit?
Essential Energy. The limit depends on your site and your supply. Ask for the approved figure in writing before installation.
What happens between quote and switch-on?
Site inspection, network approval, install day and compliance sign-off. The approval runs alongside scheduling, so it should not hold up your job. See our installation process guide for each step.
Can you add a battery to my existing system?
Yes, even if we did not install your solar. Some inverters take a battery directly; others need a separate battery inverter. We check yours during the free site assessment.
